PURPOSE: A method for measuring hauling of a braun tube using brightness and an apparatus appropriate for the same are provided to accurately measure hauling of the braun tube without manufacturing extra braun tubes for measuring hauling. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of photo sensors(5) measure brightness by frames of a screen. A noise is removed from each measured value of the photo sensors. The measured analog values are converted into digital values and an offset value of each photo sensor is substituted for the converted data. The output data are divided according to frames for a certain time. An operation unit(6) integrates the divided output data, and obtains the mean value for obtaining a brightness array by frames. A brightness deviation is obtained from the brightness array by frames to be arrayed and a standard deviation is obtained according to the brightness deviation of each frame. A gamma correction value according to eyes of human is substituted for the standard deviation to obtain brightness deviation.
