PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to display high resolution images with PenTile pixel array structure. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a pixel array, a gate line, a data line, a pixel electrode, and a thin film transistor. The pixel array is constructed in such a manner that red, blue, green, red, white and green pixels(R,B,G,R,W,G) are arranged in a column direction in a predetermined sequence, the read and green pixels are alternately arranged in one row direction, and the blue and white pixels are alternately arranged in the other row direction. The gate line delivers a scan signal or a gate signal to the pixels. The data line intersects the gate line, being electrically insulated from the gate line, and transmits image or data signal to the pixels. The pixel electrode is formed at each of the pixels and receives the data signal. The thin film transistor is formed at each of the pixels and includes a gate electrode connected to the gate line, a source electrode connected to the data line and a drain electrode connected to the pixel electrode. |
