FIELD: ceramics. SUBSTANCE: objective of invention resides in manufacturing light-weight high-strength ceramic granules employed when performing hydraulic fracturing of rocks as propping members. Initial blend is prepared from aluminosilicate raw material, in particular kaolin thermally treated at temperature allowing minimum moisture absorption in material. Composition of blend is characterized by specific surface area above 19500 sq.cm/g, 0063 sieve residue less than 5% with weight percentage of particles below 2 mcm 5-60%, below 5 mcm 30-80%, below 10 mcm 50-90%, below 20 mcm 65-97%, and below 50 mcm 83-100%.
