PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel with little degradation of brightness by utilizing a blue-color phosphor material not easily degraded by ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: On the outermost surface of a phosphor layer 11 at least facing a discharge space 12, phosphor particles of almost a spherical shape with an aspect ratio of not more than 3:1 having a plurality of grains at their outermost surface. Thus, by the use of the blue-color phosphor not easily degraded by ultraviolet rays and of a shape of a high filling factor, a plasma display panel with little degradation of brightness is realized.
