PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a battery by reducing the processing load of a central processing unit to save power consumption, and also to reduce the price of a device. SOLUTION: When compression musical data stored in a memory card 30 is reproduced, the CPU 21 reads management data (FAT) from a memory card 30 before reproduction for analysis, and gives sector order information to a DSP 25a based on the analysis result. The DSP 25a directly performs access to the memory card 30 via a memory card interface circuit 25b, and, then, the compression musical data is read by sector as a unit. The read compression musical data is decompressed by the DSP 25a, converted into an analog audio signal by a D/A converter 27, and outputted by reproduction from an analog audio circuit 29.
