PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated type magnetic recording medium for high-density recording, wherein a high C/N ratio is maintained to achieve a high surface recording density, dropouts are limited, and an error rate is low. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium is constructed in such a manner that a nonmagnetic layer containing nonmagnetic powder and a binder, and a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder and a binder are formed in this order on at least one surface of a nonmagnetic support. The nonmagnetic support includes a filler having an aspect ratio set to 50 to 10,000, and a thickness set to 0.5 to 5 nm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
