PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with excellent user-friendliness capable of increasing the number of photographing times as required. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for imaging images with a plurality of image qualities and recording them includes: a full capacity state detection section 112b for detecting whether or not a recorded capacity of a memory card 110 in use reaches a full capacity state; a recording space generating mode setting section 112c for revising the recording image quality of the images having already been stored in the memory card 110 to reserve a recording space and to make settings of avoiding the full capacity state when the capacity full state detection section 112b detects the full capacity state; and an image recording section 112a for revising the images having already been stored in the memory card 110 into the images in response to a prescribed recording image quality mode and recording the revised images depending on the setting by the recording space generating mode setting section 112c to reserve the recording space for the memory card 110.
