PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery device that is equipped in an electronic equipment and grasps precisely the abnormal heating of the battery and stops automatically the operation of the electronic equipment, and enables to use the electronic equipment again when the abnormal heating of the battery has returned to the normal state. SOLUTION: When the battery lid 6 provided in the battery housing chamber 5 of the battery device 4 of an electronic camera 1 is closed in the position as shown by the solid line, a lid side hook 8 not shown in the figure and a unit side hook 9 are engaged and a hooking spring 13 of the lid side is engaged with a hook 15 of unit side so that the position of the battery lid 6 may not be slipped and the above engagement is not detached. When opening the battery lid 6, the top end 6-1 is once moved to the position of the two-dotted chain line of the figure, and after releasing the engagement, the lid 6 is opened. When the battery 23 has an abnormally heating, a wire 18 made of a shape-memory alloy shrinks and pushes forward a stopper pawl 17 to the position of the dashed line, and by inserting the top end of the stopper pawl 17 in a hole 14 of the lid side, the slide movement of the battery lid 6 is restrained and its opening is prevented.
