摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical pickup device in which information is appropriately recorded onto magneto-optical disks of different capacities and is reproduced without lowering the quality of information recording signals while maintaining low cost. <P>SOLUTION: Light flux (first light flux) passed through a first divided surface Sd1 including an optical axis is utilized for recording and/or reproducing information to/from a first magneto-optical information recording medium and for recording and/or reproducing information to/from a second magneto-optical information recording medium, light flux (second light flux) passed through a second divided surface Sd2 outer than the first divided surface Sd1 is mainly utilized for recording and/or reproducing information to/from the second magneto-optical information recording medium and further, light flux (third light flux) passed through a third divided surface Sd3 outer than the second divided surface Sd2 is mainly utilized for recording and/or reproducing information to/from the first magneto-optical information recording medium.
