PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error detecting method in a communication system. SOLUTION: The error detecting method comprises a step of decoding a part of individual control channels, detected at the same time by user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. The UE comprises a technique for deciding whether one or a plurality of control channels are correctly received during the decoding step. If the plurality of control channels are received correctly, this method selects only one of the correctly received control channels, based on a calculated path metric difference (PMD), thereby giving a 'tie- breaking mechanism' for selecting a correct control channel for a specified UE.
