The injection timing is regulated in a double control loop responding to signals from transducers on either side of the catalytic converter. The temperature on the outflow side of the converter is used to generate a signal which is used to access a graph that relates transducer voltage to richness, and uses this to calculate the set value to adjust operation of the engine.
