<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TV receiver which prevents a viewer from missing a scene which the viewer wants to watch, during selection of a broadcasting channel. <P>SOLUTION: The end of out-of-program information in a channel just before the start of channel selection is detected and is reported to the viewer, so that the viewer can return a channel to the original channel when being informed of the end.
