<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid confusion in operation when setting is permitted, even from the outside of a receiver body. <P>SOLUTION: A signal transmitting/receiving method includes a local mode being a setting mode at the side of the receiver body; and a remote mode by a remote signal from an outer part. The setting processing by the remote signal is prevented in principle, in the case of a local mode, and the setting processing in the local mode is prevented in the case of a remote mode. Thus, when the mode is changed-over into the local mode, the remote mode is prevented, when the menu is selected by a key operation at the side of the receiver and the setting value of the selected menu is decided. Even when the remote signal is inputted from terminal equipment, this can be excluded. When the mode is changed-over into the remote mode, a reverse processing is performed. That is, key input is prevented, even when keys are operated in the receiver, and the key operation become invalid.
