PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular plug which can make covered wires having a diameter as small as less than half of a prescribed pitch surely contact with contact terminals, aligned in parallel with each other with the prescribed pitch. SOLUTION: Covered wires 12 having a diameter of 0.35 mm, being contacted with a first contact terminals 5, keeping a gap of 0.4 mm from each other, are put on covered wire putting parts 22 formed between standing walls 25 aligned with the center to center distance of 1 mm. By the above, the covered wires 12 are aligned with a pitch of approximately 1 mm while being pinched between the standing walls 25. The first contact terminals 5 contact with the covered wires 12 put on the covered wire putting parts 22 by passing through contact terminal guiding passages 24 formed between the adjacent standing walls 25. by the above, the lateral shift of the covered wires 12, generated when the first contact terminals 5 contact with the covered wires 12, is restricted by the standing walls 25.
