PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp, of which a sealing tube is not brittled with a mechanical strength well maintained even if the sealing tube and a reflecting mirror are firmly fixed with an adhesive of an alkali metal silicate system and the sealing tube is not damaged even with a vibration. SOLUTION: With the discharge lamp device provided with a discharge lamp 10 and a reflecting mirror 20 arranged so as to surround the discharge lamp 10 with a sealing part 12 inserted into a tip part opening 21 of the reflecting mirror and fixed to it with an adhesive S1, the adhesive S1 is one of an alkali metal silicate system, and a protecting film 16 made of a phosphate system inorganic material is formed on the surface of the sealing tube 12 of the discharge lamp in opposition to the adhesive S1.
