PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the charging time of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: To control charging for the secondary battery (30), this charging control method, intervened between an AC adapter (20) and the secondary battery, controls charging current (ICHG<SB>2</SB>) passing through the secondary battery from the AC adapter by turning on/off a charging control switch (Tr). Even if the charging voltage (VCHG<SB>2</SB>) of the secondary battery exceeds the reference voltage (V<SB>ref1</SB>) preset at the secondary voltage, constant-current charging for maintaining a prescribed current (I<SB>100</SB>) as the charging current is performed. When a prescribed condition is satisfied, constant-voltage charging is performed so that the charging voltage of the secondary battery may be equal to the preset reference voltage.
