PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate making a camera and an electronic equipment small size and light weight. SOLUTION: A cut-out section 3, 3 for preventing error insertion of a battery unit 1 is provided at the side of the outer package 2 of a battery unit of rectangular parallelpipied shape. The number of the cut-out sections 3 and their locations are determined so that the side edge 15 may not have a symmetrical center. The battery holder 101 which houses the above battery unit 1 is formed so that it has the same inner shape as the outer shape of the outer package 2 and has a protrusion 103, 103 that engages with the cut-out section 3, 3 when the battery holder 101 is in housing state.
