<p>1281965 Centrifugal separator WARMAN EQUIPMENT (INTERNATIONAL) Ltd 19 May 1970 [19 May 1969] 24075/70 Heading B2P [Also in Division F1] A centrifugal pump for frothy fluids, comprises an impeller 1 mounted in a casing 3 having an inlet 4 receiving fluid from a chamber 6 in which the feed fluid is given a vortical motion in the direction of impeller rotation by delivery through a tangential feed pipe 9. Some of the fluid, after receiving additional energy from the impeller, is returned to the feed chamber 6 by stationary helical vanes 10 to form an interface 11 to promote separation of air from the feed. Six inclined vanes 12 prevent the vortical flow from overflowing the chamber 6. The included angle of chamber wall 7 may be 55 degrees, and the feed pipe 9 may be downwardly inclined by 15 degrees.</p> |
