RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing apparatus facilitating discrimination of programs to which update video recording (every time a program is overwritten on the same area of a recording medium) is set among programs reserved for timer video recording. SOLUTION: A differentiation reservation number is attached to programs reserved by timer video recording as a particular identification mark and the reservation number is displayed together with program information such as video recording time on a menu. An update video recording number is attached to the programs to which the update video recording is set among recorded programs as an identification mark and no identification mark is attached to the other programs. The update video recording number is the same as the reservation number of the program to which the update video recording is set at the reservation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
