PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for connecting a superconducting cylinder which can reduce a leakage magnetic field in a gap of connecting parts of a plurality of superconducting cylinders. SOLUTION: A method for piping a cylinder having a bottom and a cylinder body integral with the bottom comprises the steps of fitting a cylinder formed by rounding a superconductive plate or fitting a seamless superconducting cylinder on a superconducting cylinders to be connected so as to surround the periphery of the connecting part of the superconducting cylinders, and clamping fixedly the cylinder by a connecting means such as bolts and nuts or soldering or the like. Thus, a leakage magnetic flux from the coaxially connected part of the plurality of the superconducting cylinders can be remarkably reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
