PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive hard disk drive which easily switches a hard disk in a floating or fixed state and can protect the hard disk from an impact from the outside and from falling without damaging its performance. SOLUTION: The hard disk drive for performing information processing of either prescribed information recoding or reproduction or both of them in the main body 1 of electronic equipment is provided with the hard disk 24 for storing the prescribed information of the main body 1, a removable case 20 incorporating the hard disk 24 and supporting the hard disk in a floating state with an elastic body 22, and a holding part 10 disposed in the main body 1 and holding the case 20 with the built-in hard disk 24 in an insertable and extractable manner. Projections 10a are provided in the holding part 10, and the projections 10a fix the built-in hard disk 24 through the case 20 in the floating state to realize stable information processing when the case 20 is inserted.
