THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND MAGNETIC RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head in which the expansion/bend of a recording pattern due to the skew can be suppressed to improve the recording performance. SOLUTION: A main magnetic pole layer 12 is constituted so as to form the laminated structure with a lower main pole layer 12A having 1st saturated magnetic flux density J1 while being positioned at the medium inflow side and an upper main pole layer 12B having 2nd saturated magnetic flux density J2 larger than the 1st saturated flux density J1 while being positioned at the medium outflow side. When the magnetic flux flows in the main pole layer 12, since the flux saturation is not brought in the upper main pole layer 12B having the larger saturated flux density although the flux saturation is brought in the lower main pole layer 12A having the smaller saturated flux density, the magnetic flux preferentially flows mainly in the upper main pole layer 12B. Since the write operation by the main pole layer 12 is carried out in the upper main pole layer 12B mainly at the medium outflow side, the expansion of the recording pattern due to the skew is suppressed as compared with the case the saturated flux density of the whole main pole layer 12 is larger.
