PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact resistant film for a flat display panel, which can prevent the breakage and the scatter of panel glass when impact is applied thereto and which can reduce the weight and the thickness thereof. SOLUTION: The impact resistant film 10 for the flat display panel, which is joined to the front glass 12 of a flat display panel main body 11, includes a first layer 13 which is made of a transparent thermosetting resin having the shear elastic modulus of <1×10<SP>8</SP>Pa, which has the thickness in the range of 0.1 mm-4.0 mm, and which is on the side facing to the front glass of the flat display panel, and a second layer 14 which is made of a transparent synthetic resin having the shear elastic modulus of≥1×10<SP>8</SP>Pa, greater than that of the first layer, and which has the thickness of 0.05 mm-3.0 mm at the viewing side in front of the first layer.
