PURPOSE: A multipoint call service hosting system and method in an Internet messenger is provided to offer a multipoint voice call service for VoIP/PSTN calls on the basis of the group information of an Internet messenger, without restriction for a specific Internet messenger. CONSTITUTION: An Internet messenger server(20), providing an Internet messenger service, sends a multipoint call service request to an intelligent supplemental service system(30) according to a service user's request. The intelligent supplemental service system(30), connected with an IN(Intelligent network), a PSTN, and the Internet, executes No.7 ISUP/TCAP signaling in the IN, provides a voice message transfer function, digit collection function and a voice call function in the PSTN, and offers web-associated services in the Internet. A PINT(PSTN-IN/Internet Interworking) server(40) supports the interworking between the IN/PSTN and the Internet, and provides a VoIP function, interworking with a PSTN-based system. A VoIP gateway(50) supports the voice/data transfer between the Internet and the PSTN. A gate keeper(60), managing network equipments and resources, processes subscriber authentication for the use of the VoIP gateway(50).
