<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve a problem that only color correction is performed since a defective pixel is remained as a luminescent spot when the pixel is the luminescent spot, and as a dark spot when being the dark spot in the case of allowing the luminance of a normal pixel on another display panel to meet that of the defective pixel on one display panel. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of processing a video signal for displaying and driving the display panel as typified by a liquid crystal panel, a position on the time axis of the video signal corresponding to the defective pixel on the display panel is specified by a timing control circuit 15. A correction signal (a correction value) which is set by a correction value arithmetic circuit 14 to correct a luminance difference in the defective pixel with respect to the normal pixel is superimposed by an adder 13 on the video signal corresponding to the defective pixel.
