<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat lighting device, which can assure a uniformity of brightness and an improvement of brightness, and a liquid crystal display device using it. <P>SOLUTION: The flat lighting device comprises: a first liquid crystal panel 2; a light source 7 projecting illumination light for the first liquid crystal panel 2; a light guide plate 4 guiding the emitted light from the light source 7 to the first liquid crystal panel 2; a diffusion sheet 6, which is located between the light guide plate 4 and the first liquid crystal panel 2 to diffuse light, and has a half-mirror surface 6a; a reflection sheet 5, which is located on the opposite side of the light guide plate 4 to the first liquid crystal panel 2, and is made of a half-mirror; and a second liquid crystal panel 8, which is located on the opposite side of the reflection sheet 5 to the light guide plate 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
