<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a license management method which controls the use limitation and expiration date for use of an application software program in an IC card to which the application software is loaded, and also provide a system therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The application program to be managed, a peculiar serial number and an original collation key corresponding to the serial number are held within the IC card. Initially, only a command reading out the serial number and an activation command effectuating all of the functions are operative, and other functions are not operative. A function, which makes all of the functions of the program operative only when the collation key is verified to be right in the application program when a user commands the matching key relating to the serial number in addition to the activation command, is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
