METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF ACCOMMODATED USER'S LINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the number of accommodated user's lines capable of properly determining the number of users accommodated in a digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) on the basis of parameters directly usable by a designer by taking into account a change in the communication quality and the access line speed.

SOLUTION: This invention provides the method for determining the number of accommodated user's lines that determines the desirable number of users to be accommodated in the DSLAM by taking the communication quality into account when the DSLAM for accommodating a plurality of access lines respectively connected to user terminals is connected to a prescribed communication network with a limited band, and the method enters information of a line speed of an access line utilized by the users together with the average traffic received by the communication network from each user as a variable to a prescribed computer 20 and the computer 20 calculates the number of users accommodated to the DSLAM on the basis of the variable and outputs the result.
