PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing green algae growth inhibiting apparatus using white styrofoam that intercepts sun shine, thereby inhibiting photosynthesis of green algae and preventing increase of water temperature. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of preparing a plural lumps of white styrofoam which are flexible and have high tension, punching penetration holes in the styrofoam lump so as for oxygen to pass through the holes, connecting the styrofoam lumps using a rope, floating the styrofoam lumps on the surface of water and binding the rope to a support around a dam.
