<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control inputted energy to a piezostack. <P>SOLUTION: The piezostack 4A is charged by a capacitor 32 via an inductor 34 when a switching element 35, which is switched on and off repeatedly, is in an 'on' period, and in an 'off' period, it is charged by bypassing the capacitor 32 by a diode 361 to cause a flywheel current to flow. In this circuit, by setting a controller 212 that controls the switching element 35 in such a way that the length of the 'on' period takes a constant value and that the turning-on of the switching element 35 is inhibited until a reference time elapses from the start of charging the piezostack on a second 'on' period, energy inputting characteristics from the second 'on' period onward are equalized, even if a capacity change in the piezostack 4A disperses a time required for reaching prescribed energy at the initial period of the start of charging, in particular during the first 'on' and 'off' periods. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
