The invention relates to a method and a system for transmitting data via switchable data networks, especially the Ethernet, in the field of industria l installations, whereby real-time critical data and non real-time critical da ta is transmitted, the switchable data network comprising at least one wireless transmission path between at least two subscribers, especially a transmitter and a receiver. When a communication interface is to be created by means of a coupling unit of the data network, between cyclically clocked communication connections having different performances, the data is forwarded according t o a "store and forward" method. The invention enables a parallel transmission of real-time critical and non real-time critical data.
