PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus provided with a carrier collection means having high carrier collection effect while suppressing large size and increase of a cost by collecting a carrier in a process since transferring. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 has: an image carrier 101 for carrying a toner image by being developed by a developer having the carrier and toner; a transfer means 105 arranged to be opposed to the image carrier and transferring the toner image on the image carrier 101, in a region 107 opposite to the image carrier 101 to a recording medium; and carrier collection means 1 and 2 on and behind the opposite region 107 and collecting the carrier.
