<p>1282969 Locks YMOS-METALLWERKE WOLF & BECKER GmbH & CO 29 Oct 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 51570/70 Heading E2A A lock has a barrel 1, Figs. 1, 3 and 5, having symmetrically offset passages 5, 6 formed therein to receive plate tumblers 3 and 4 respectively and a cylinder 10 which is provided with recesses 11a, 12a for the tumblers 3 and with recesses 11, 12 for the tumblers 4. The tumblers 3, 4 are movable in opposite direction and act in pairs. Webs 13, 13a formed between the recesses 11, 11a and 13, 13a respectively have aligned stop surfaces which are engageable by the tumblers. A spring 14 is provided for each tumbler and is positioned between a projection 17 of the tumbler and a strip 15 which is located in the barrel 1, the spring urging the tumbler into its respective recess 11a or 12. When a key 2, Fig. 4, having symmetrical recesses 8 and projections 9, is inserted into a keyway 16, Fig. 6, the tumblers having step 18, are moved to a unlocking position as shown in Fig. 3. In modifications a key 2, Fig. 11, (not shown), is non-reversible and release is effected in one direction of rotation thereof, a key 2, Fig. 12 (not shown), effects release in either direction of rotation, the plate tumblers 3, 4, Fig. 15 (not shown) are in two rows which are mounted eccentrically and are staggered, and a key 2, Fig. 22 (not shown), has each edge thereof milled so as to double the number of steps therein.</p> |
