PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity apparatus for a video receiver which prevents the disturbance of a video by enabling switching of antennas, even in the case of fading. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with at least a means of detecting the electric field strength of a received radio wave, a means for separating a vertical synchronization signal and a horizontal synchronization signal of the video from a received video signal, and a means for determing whether the vertical synchronization signal and the horizontal synchronization signal which are separated are normal. When the electric field strength is low or when the vertical synchronization signal or the horizontal synchronization signal is not normal, the apparatus switches the antennas. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
