PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document carrying device capable of realizing good aligning accuracy and miniaturization by varying an inclined angle of a paper delivery tray. SOLUTION: This automatic document carrying device 200 comprises a document table 2 accommodating a plurality of documents; a carrying means for carrying the documents accommodated in the document table 2 to a predetermined image reading position; and a document delivery part 29, to which the documents after image-reading are delivered. A paper delivery tray 51 having a receiving part 75 abutting against ends of the delivered documents and aligning the ends of the documents is installed at the document delivery part 29. The paper delivery tray 51 is installed in a manner that the inclined angle against a paper delivery tray face can be changed according to the number or thickness of the documents loaded on the tray.
