PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tamper-evident cap which can be easily mounted on a container mouth and surely prevent a band from coming off from the container mouth when uncapping. SOLUTION: A synthetic resin cap 10 includes a cap body 16 to be screwed with the container mouth 14, the band 18 connected with the lower end rim of the cap body via a plurality of bridges 20 and a locking ring 38 extending inward and upward from the lower end rim of the band. The locking ring is formed with a plurality of pleats 42 in its circumferential direction, each of which has an inner portion 44 located inside, an outer portion 46 located outside and an intermediate portion 48 connecting between the portions. The intermediate portion is more flexible than the inner and outer portions. The pleats can be easily spread in this constitution, obtaining good mountability. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
