PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid trouble in moving of balls by improving the shape of a holding piece of a ball screw to hardly cause cracking even in contact with a ball groove and a step. SOLUTION: The holding piece 1 is formed into an approximately cylindrical body with concave faces 3 for receiving balls 2 in two bottom faces of the cylindrical body. The approximately cylindrical body as the holding piece 1 has a sectionally arcuate protrusion 12 integrated on the whole outer periphery face of a cylindrical column 11 and a knuckle 13 of a radius of curvature r at a boundary between the circular cylinder 11 and the arcuate protrusion 12.
