<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller and a water heater that enable an easy and reliable operation of checking a model, selected by a selecting means, and corresponding switches. <P>SOLUTION: The remote controller comprises an inspection switch 11 for checking a model, and a determining means 5 for determining whether operation information on various switches 6 to 10 conforms to a model selected by the selecting means 12 and 13 when the inspection switch 11 is operated.
