PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a manufacturing cost by relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: This transmission ratio variable steering gear capable of varying a transmission ratio of a steering angle to a turning angle is provided with an electromagnetic clutch 9 fixed to housings 2, 3, an internal gear 4 provided to be connectable and disconnectable to the housing 2 by the clutch 9, a sun gear 5 provided to be integrally rotated with an upper steering shaft 71 inside the internal gear 4, and a planetary gear 6 pivoted rotatably to a lower steering shaft 72 and meshed with the internal gear 4 and the sun gear 5.
