METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLOSING CONSTRUCTION HOLE IN AIR-RAISING ROOF OF STORAGE TANK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for closing a construction hole in air-raising the roof of a storage tank capable of reducing the cost of temporary construction work, constructing a liner plate after the air-raising of the roof, and reducing the period of construction work by using reinforcements that protrude from the construction hole toward its opening to facilitate the fixing of a closing plate while eliminating the need to embed temporary members into the peripheral edge of the inner surface of the construction hole. SOLUTION: Pipes 14 are fitted over the reinforcements 13 which protrude from the construction hole 10 toward its opening. After a screwing coupler 15 is threadedly engaged for locking each pipe 14, a base member 16 formed of H-steel, I-steel or the like is securely welded to each pipe 14 and the closing plate 11 is welded to the base member 16 to close the inner face of the construction hole 10.
