Door lock released by motor driven cam acting against pivoted lever

To release the lock a motor driven cam (4) rotates in engagement against a lever (1) to disengage pawl from a notch. As the cam rotates against the lever the distance (L2) between it and the pivot (5) increases so increasing the effective leverage exerted on the lever. At the same time the distance (L1) to the lever pivot (2) decreases reducing the effective leverage.
