PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damage detecting sensor which can detect a damage in a structure in nondestructive manner at a low cost easily and with high precision, and can diagnose the soundness of the structure precisely. SOLUTION: A damage in the joined part between a pillar 51 and a beam 52 is made to be detectable, by using a damage sensor 1A provided with a flexible tabular member 10 whose one end part side is fixed as a first fixing piece portion 11 to the pillar 51, whose the other end part side is fixed as a second fixing piece portion 12 to the beam 52, and hose intermediate part 13 is interposed between these first and second portions 11, 12 and is capable of being displaced, and an optical fiber 20 which is integrated with the tabular member 10 and detects the displacement of the intermediate part 13 as a strain.
