PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual stress measuring device that can produce accurate residual stress distribution in an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The residual stress measuring device for an optical fiber comprises: a fixing part for fixing an optical fiber whose residual stress is to be measured; and a measuring part comprising a light generator for generating light for residual stress measurement of the optical fiber fixed on the fixing part, and a detector for detecting light generated by the light generator and passed through the optical fiber, and for measuring a residual stress in the optical fiber in dependence on a phase change in the light passed through the optical fiber, as rotating along the circumference of the optical fiber.
