PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital measuring instrument capable of preventing the alteration of measurement result data. SOLUTION: Acquired time data and position data are added to the header of a file. A message digest is generated from the generated file (including header information). This message digest is encrypted by use of secrete key data. The encrypted message digest is added to the header area. Accordingly, a further reliable measurement result can be obtained by generating the message digest from data including the time data and position data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
