PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat insulating effect by effectively using a vacuum heat insulating material in a refrigerator wherein a freezing compartment is positioned at a lowermost part of a heat-insulating casing. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator 1 composed of the heat insulating casing 6 provided with vacuum heat insulating materials 71, 71, 73 between an outer casing 2 and an inner casing 3, and positioning the freezing compartment 18 at the lowermost part in the heat-insulating casing 6, the vacuum heat insulating materials 71, 71, 73 are mounted at both sides and the back of the freezing compartment 18. The vacuum heat insulating material is placed on an inner face of the outer casing corresponding to the back of the freezing compartment, and the high-temperature refrigerant piping of a cooling system is heat exchangeably mounted on an inner face of the outer casing positioned at an upper part of the vacuum heat insulating material.
