PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch structure which is not easily deviated from a predetermined position even though the structure is thin and lightweight at rolling performed as part of a road construction work. SOLUTION: A foundation block 2 is installed in a crushed-stone foundation 20. A pair of side ditches 1 and 1 are placed on a foundation block 2 by butting together the end faces of the side ditches, and a notched hole 7 made of a pair of notches 7 is arranged to the inner side of a hole portion 10 of the foundation block 2. At the inner side of the hole portion 10 of the notched hole 7 and the hole portion 10 of the foundation block 2, steel bars 8 and 8 jointed to the steel bars 9 and 9 of the side ditches 1 and 1, steel bars 11 and 11 of the foundation block 2, and other steel bars 12 are jointed together, and a space created by the above is filled up with concrete. The foundation block and side ditch are definitely jointed and strongly fixed to the crushed-stone foundation. In this way, a trouble such as a deviation of the side ditch from a predetermined position due to rolling or the like during the road construction work can be eliminated. The foundation blocks can easily be set to a predetermined level so that the installation level, grade or the like of the side ditches to be placed on the blocks can be set freely with a high accuracy.
