PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device capable of efficiently capturing floating particulate matter. SOLUTION: The floating particulate matter is mainly discharged from diesel vehicles and particularly high in concentration on a roadside, which produces the fear of damage to health. When this floating particulate matter capturing device is set on a road to capture the floating particulate matter discharged from vehicles, it is effective to set the device, when a wall-like structure is present on the road, on the upper end of the wall-like structure, considering the flow of wind. Since the concentration of the floating particulate matter is high in a place within a height of 1 m from the road surface because it is close to the discharge source of contaminated air, it is effective to set the device within a height of 1 m to remove the floating particulate matter.
