摘要 1284922 Oxidation catalysts FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AG 4 Sept 1969 [6 Sept 1968] 43881/69 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] Catalyst for use in the preparation of allyl acetate from propylene, acetic acid and oxygen comprises (a) palladium acetylacetonate, (b) iron acetylacetonate, (c) an alkali metal acetate or precursor therefor which forms alkali metal acetate under the reaction conditions, for example alkali metal hydroxide, carbonate, borate, phosphate or carboxylate, and (d) silica support material which preferably has a surface area of from 50 to 250 m<SP>2</SP>/g and which may contain up to 10 per cent of other oxides, for example alumina. Each litre of catalyst may contain from 1 to 10 grams of palladium (expressed as metal), from 0.1 to 10 grams of iron (expressed as metal) and from 1 to 50 grams of alkali metal acetate or precursor therefor. The catalyst may be prepared either by applying an acetic acid solution containing palladium acetylacetone, iron acetylacetonate and alkali metal acetate or precursor therefor to silica support material which thereafter is dried or by applying a benzene solution containing palladium acetylacetonate and iron acetylacetonate to silica support material, drying the impregnated support material, applying an aqueous solution of alkali metal acetate or precursor therefor to the dried support material and drying the doubly-impregnated support material. An example relates to the preparation, according to the latter method, of a catalyst containing 3.3 grams of palladium (expressed as metal), 1.8 grams of iron (expressed as metal) and 30 grams of potassium acetate per litre of catalyst, the silica support material being in the form of 5 mm. spheres having a surface area of 165 m<SP>2</SP>/g and an apparent density of 0.5 kg/litre.
