<p>A hydrogel material is produced which enables incorporation of increased amounts of drugs into gel and can release drugs over a prolonged period. A process for the production of hydrogel material enhanced in the intake of drugs and permitting sustained release of drugs, which comprises (a) the step of preparing a monomer mixture fluid containing a target drug, a monomer having a specific functional group capable of forming a physically crosslinked structure together with the target drug, and a crosslinking agent, (b) the step of conducting the polymerization while keeping the complex between the target drug and the monomer, and (c) the step of removing the target drug and unreacted monomer from the resulting polymer.</p> |
