PATCH MEASURING DEVICE AND PRINTING DEVICE INCORPORATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch measuring device which correctly detects the position of a patch constituting a control strip.

SOLUTION: In the patch measuring device 27, a data storage section 271 stores printed matter image data including the control strip on printed matter. A reference mark detection section 272 detects the position of an intersection P corresponding to a reference mark (rm) included in the printed matter image data. A reference mark distance calculation section 273 calculates an actually measured shortest distance to the intersection P. A reference mark distance correction section 274 calculates a ratio correction factor (k) by using a theoretical shortest distance at the intersection P of arranged position information and the actually measured shortest distance. A patch position detection section 275 determines the patch position based on the ratio correction factor (k) and the value of a pixel constituting the printed matter image data. A color density measuring section 276 measures the color density of a patch whose position is detected by the detection section 275 for detecting a patch position.
